The new European Regulation on cosmetic products (Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009) lays down the requirements in terms of the safety report and product information file. Even the notification process for cosmetic products and regulation of nanomaterials have changed. At the same time, the focus is shifting in terms of drawing the line between cosmetic products and medicinal products and/or biocides and requirements regarding evidence to support statements on effects and advertising messages are changing.

Our clients benefit from our long-term experience:

  • Creation of product information files and safety reports by safety assessors certified by the German Society for Scientific and Applied Cosmetics (DGK)
  • Notification of cosmetic products in accordance with Article 13 Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 via the EU's Cosmetic Products Notification Portal (CPNP)
  • Examination of your products' labelling and marketability (certificates of marketability)
  • Assessment of statements on effects and advertising messages according to Regulation (EU) No 655/2013 in order to prevent any objections
  • Creation of safety reports for cosmetic products, which contain nanomaterials
  • Preparatory work for certification in accordance with cosmetic GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice)

Tattoo inks are not covered by the European Regulation on cosmetic products. We also have experience in putting together safety assessments for tattoo inks and similar preparations in accordance with the German Tätowiermittelverordnung and EU ResAP (2008)1.
